Beef Stroganoff Ingredients:

  • Condensed beef broth, 10.5 oz
  • Sliced green onions, 4
  • Prepared mustard, 1 tsp
  • Beef chuck roast, 2 lb.
  • All-purpose flour, 4 tbsp
  • Sour cream, ⅓ cup
  • Sliced mushrooms, 1 can
  • Butter, 4 oz.
  • Kosher salt, as per taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper. ½ tsp
  • White wine, ⅓ cup

  1. Chuck roast should be defatted and the gristle removed before cutting into half an inch thick by two-inch long strips. Add a half-teaspoon each of pepper and salt.
  2. In a skillet on medium heat, melt the butter. Brown the beef quickly in a skillet.
  3. Place the steak in the center of the skillet. After cooking and stirring the onions for between three and five mins, move the beef to the side.
  4. On the bare side of the pan, stir flour into the juices. Add the beef broth then stir continuously as you bring it to a boil. Add the mustard and turn the heat down. The beef should be tender after an hour of simmering under cover.
  5. Add white wine, sour cream, and mushrooms five mins before serving. Add the pepper and salt and continue to cook till thoroughly cooked.
